Here's a list of best camera phones under 10000 for those who don't want to spend a lot but still need a smartphone with a decent camera.  There are some phones with a dual camera as well. Dual camera was seen on flagship phones last year but this year we are seeing decent dual camera phones in the budget segment of under 10k. All these phones are capable of clicking very nice shots in daylight conditions. Camera quality under low light conditions will be average on most phones

Brief Review:

Motorola G4 comes with Snapdragon 617 and works very fine in normal usage. The phone comes with a turbo charging and can charge 30-40 percent in only about 15 minutes. The camera performance is decent for a phone in this price range and the battery can easily last for a full day. The best thing about this phone is that it comes with a dedicated SD card slot. The fingerprint sensor in quick and accurate but is on the front. There is no lag found while gaming but in case of extended usage the phone gets heated and is not recommended for people looks for heavy usage. This model also has a gyroscope sensor which enables you to view 360 degree videos and use VR headsets. The overall performance is fine. If your usage is low like whatsapp, facebook and calling then you can go with this phone. Otherwise if you use a lot of apps and games then avoid this one and go for Redmi Note 4 which offers better overall performance at almost same price.Decent Camera, Stock Android Experience, Turbo Charging, Sleek Design makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

2. Lenovo Z2 Plus 64GB

  • 5 inch Full HD Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 8MP

Brief Review:

Lenovo Z2 Plus is a very powerful device. It comes with Snapdragon 820 and in 32GB and 64GB model. It does not have any SD card slot and hence memory cannot be expanded. The battery life is very good and can last for a day. In the context of gaming there is no lag at all but the device gets heated in case of continuous extended gaming. The camera is very decent in the daylight but struggles in artificial lightning since it does not have laser auto focus or any optical image stabilization. Overall the phone is very powerful and after the price cut it looks attractive to buy. If you have higher storage space requirement, then you should consider buying this model.
Flagship Performance in under 20k, Stock Android Experience, Vivid Display, Inbuilt fitness tracking sensors makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

3. Coolpad Cool 1 4GB

Cool 1 4GB

Features
  • 4 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM
  • 5.5 inch Full HD Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 8MP
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Gold, Silver Colors
Best Price ₹16599

Brief Review:

Coolpad Cool1 is built in collaboration between Coolpad and LeEco. It comes with Qualcomm 652 octa core powerful processor. The phone has a metal body and is very sturdy to use, though a little higher on the weight side. It runs of LeEco EUI.

Regarding the camera, Cool1 is the first phone in this budget that offers a dual rear camera. The rear camera is a 13MP shooter and performance is simply brilliant, the color quality, saturation, auto focus all top the chart. The color reproduction is good and image quality is impressive. The front camera is an 8MP shooter and works fine.

The phone is sensor rich and has all the needed sensors, like gyroscope, compass etc. The phone display is sharp, viewing angles are good.

Coming to the gaming performance, this phone is a total disappointment. The extended gaming for about 15 minutes sees frame drop and a lot of heating issues on both the back and front. This clearly shows the poor optimization even on using such a powerful Qualcomm 652 processor.

The phone sometimes gets warm sometimes even on 4G usage which can make the phone uncomfortable to use. The heating issues might get fix with software updates but no one knows when.

The battery comes with a capacity of 4060 mAh and would last for around a day. The phone does not support fast charging and takes about 3 hours for a full charge.

Another disappointment that comes with the phone is that it does not support expandable storage and only has 32GB of internal storage model.

It is no doubt an impressive phone but apart from amazing dual rear camera quality, nothing else has been able to bring a spark to this phone. So if you are a camera freak but not gaming and 32GB memory seems sufficient, you can choose this phone. In the same price range, the best phones you can look at include Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6x and the recently launched LG Q6.

Dual Rear Camera, Powerful Processor SD652, Solid Build Quality, makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

4. Motorola E4 Plus

E4 Plus

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 128 GB
  • 5.5 inch HD Display 720p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 5MP
  • 5000mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Iron Grey, Fine Gold Colors
Best Price ₹9999

Brief Review:

Moto E4 Plus is another budget device from Motorola in under Rs. 10000 range. The highlight of this device is its massive 5000mAh battery which can provide 2-3 days of backup. The device looks like Moto G5 Plus but slightly bigger because of the 5.5-inch display. The build quality of the device is decent and the device looks good because of its metallic back. The back is removable and you can put 2 sim cards with a micro sd card of up to 128GB but the battery is not user removable. The display on the device is a 5.5 inch 720p HD display. The viewing angles are good and colours are accurate. It is expected to use less power because of its lower resolution. Below the display, we have a fingerprint sensor and above the display, we have a 5MP camera with flash. It is good to see Motorola coming up with front flash in budget devices which will surely attract selfie lovers. On the back, we have a 13MP primary camera whose performance is decent for a device of this price range. Inside we have a MediatekMTK6737 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The storage and RAM numbers are good but the problem is with the chipset which is not powerful enough to handle heavy apps and games. So if you are a heavy user you should skip this device. We would have loved to see something like Snapdragon 435 which would have made E4 Plus the best device in under Rs. 10000.
Overall Moto E4 Plus is a great device for those who are looking for a phone with great battery life which can handle light usage like calling, WhatsApp, Facebook and few games. If you can spend Rs.10999 then you should go for Redmi Note 4 which has a better chipset and equally good battery life. On the lower side, Redmi 4 is another good option which will cost you Rs. 8999.
Excellent Battery Backup, Good Build Quality, Dedicated MicroSD Slot, Front Camera Flash makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

5. Infinix Note 4

Note 4

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 128 GB
  • 5.7 inch Full HD Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 8MP
  • 4300mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Milan Black, Ice Blue, Champagne Gold Colors
Best Price ₹8999

Brief Review:

Infinix is a Hong-Kong based smartphone manufacturer and launched Infinix Note 4 in India in August 2017 as a competition to Redmi 4Moto E4 Plus and Lenovo K8 Plus. It was launched as a Flipkart exclusive phone. This is the first smartphone to be launched with a 5.7-inch screen in a sub 10k segment phones. The display has good colours, decent viewing angles and photo/video on the phone are up to the mark. It also has 2.5D glass protection over the screen.
Infinix Note 4 is powered by Octa-Core 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6753 chipset, which is not the not the best or most powerful chipset in this price range. Snapdragon 435 as seen in Redmi 4 could have been a better choice.  The Antutu benchmark score of Infinix Note 4 is approx 38000 compared to Redmi 4 with Antutu Benchmark Score of 42000, so around an 8 to 10 percent difference in the performance of both the phones.
The rear camera of Infinix Note 4 is a 13MP sensor and front camera for selfies is an 8MP sensor. The photos from the camera look sharp and clear, the shutter speed is also good. The images are good in the daylight but not the best in the low light conditions. The rear camera of Infinix Note 4 has a Dual LED flash (Not the Dual-tone LED flash) which would be of some assistance in the low lighting conditions. Obviously, nothing extraordinary should be expected in this price range.
The gaming performance of Infinix Note 4 is also just up to the mark. There were minor frame drops or lag was observed while gaming, but there were no heating issues observed, which is one of the positive points in terms of heat dissipation in the phone.
Infinix Note 4 runs Android 7.0 with company's XOS UI, which comes with some bloatware pre-installed. The good thing is that, though these bloatware apps cannot be removed, but can be permanently disabled. The handset has 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage with a dedicated SD card slot to extend the memory up to 128GB. With 3GB of RAM, the phone can multitask with ease. The fingerprint sensor is on the front, which is a button and not an active sensor, the button needs to be pressed to unlock the phone.
The phone comes with a battery rated 4300mAH, which is a humungous, capable of delivering battery life of around 1.5 days. The charger is also a fast charger compared to the charger ratings of other phones in this price range.
Infinix Note 4 comes with some of the inbuilt software features, such as Double Tap (To lock or unlock the screen), One hand mode that lets you use this phone as 4.7 inches or 4.0-inch phone, screenshot with 3 fingers, wave to unlock and some other useful software features.
The phone looks decent but the body is made of plastic with the metallic finish, so the build quality is not so great and the back side is susceptible to scratches, so do use a back cover that comes with the phone or check out some handpicked back cover for this phone below.
Infinix Note 4, as in other phones in this price range, does not have any IP rating and hence is not waterproof or dustproof. Read what IP rating means here.
Overall, Infinix Note 4, given the price point of Rs 9000, with a 5.7 inch Full HD screen, decent gaming and camera performance and dedicated SD card slot looks a good buy. But there had to be some compromise as can be seen in the build quality and not the best processor to keep abreast with other features. So if you are looking for a Sub 10k phone, Infinix Note 4 and Redmi 4 are our preferred choice.  Check here the Suggest Phone complete list of Best Smartphone under 10k.
Sharp Camera images, Big Full HD screen, Dedicated MicroSD Slot, Decent gaming performance makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

6. Micromax Evok Dual Note 3GB

Evok Dual Note 3GB

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 64 GB
  • 5.5 inch Full HD Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP

Brief Review:

Micromax Evok dual note comes powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750T. The phone has a good looking metallic back and comes with a 5.5-inch screen with a curved back making it easy to hold in hand. It comes a charging port sandwiched between 2 speakers at the bottom and a headphone jack at the top.
The striking feature of Micromax Evok is the dual camera on the back which combines a 13MP and a 5MP shooter. The camera clicks beautiful images and comes with a feature of real-time Re-Focus option, which allows users to select the focus area of a picture after shooting, similar to that of the macro mode of an SLR camera. The rear camera of Evok dual note comes in several different colours like monochrome, strong, blackboard and also allows pictures to be taken in panorama and 3D mode.
Micromax Evok front camera is a 5MP selfie shooter paired with a LED flash, it takes decent selfies and comes with few filters and face beauty modes. This phone comes with a 3000mAh battery that can easily last for a day in normal usage. Evok has a fingerprint sensor on the front but is a bit sluggish in response.
It comes in two models with 3GB and 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal memory. The processor in the Micromax Evok performs decently to which the company claims "MediaTek MT6750" can save up to 30 percent power consumption. The phone comes with a hybrid sim slot and the memory is expandable up to 64GB.
So Overall Micromax Evok Dual note gives an ideal performance and has the major focus on its superlative camera. Someone looking to try a new rear camera in the market at this price point can buy this phone, the users with high multitasking can choose for 4GB model.
Some of the other Smartphones in this price range which can be looked at are Redmi 4 and Motorola E4 Plus

Good design, Mettalic back, Dual Rear Camera, Battery lasts for a day. makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

7. Lenovo K8 Plus

K8 Plus

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 128 GB
  • 5.2 inch Full HD Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP + 5MP Dual Camera
  • Front Camera: 8MP
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Black, Gold Colors
Best Price ₹9999

Brief Review:

Lenovo K8 Plus looks like the smaller version of Lenovo K8 Note. We think Lenovo K8 Mini should have been a better name. The phone is made of metal and has a good build quality. The edges are curved which make it easy to hold. The display is Full HD 1080p panel with good colour reproduction and viewing angles.
The USP of the Lenovo K8 Plus is the dual camera on the back. There are 13MP and 5MP sensors on the back and information from both camera sensors help to give a bokeh or depth effect to the images. The camera performs well under daylight conditions but under low light the camera performance is average. The camera on the front is 8MP with a flash which will help while taking selfies under low light.
Inside the Lenovo K8 Plus, we have an Helio P25 processor. The processor is similar to Snapdragon 625 in performance but it is not that efficient. The processor performs well and we did not notice any lag while multitasking or playing heavy games like Asphalt. The Anututu Benchmark score of K8 Plus is around 63000.
Lenovo K8 Plus is running on stock android 7.1 which is the latest version of Android. There is almost no bloatware on the device, we are saying almost because there are some Microsoft apps installed which might not be useful for everyone and you cannot uninstall them, they can be disabled though. Still, apps open up fast and multi-tasking is a breeze as well. You are not going to notice any lag even with heavy games.
For security, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device which is quick and accurate.
On the storage side, we have 3GB and 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Lenovo K8 Plus also has a dedicated MicroSD slot in the sim tray which can be used to increase the storage by 128GB. Nano type sims are required for the K8 Plus.
On the battery side, you have a 4000 mAh battery which is a very good capacity. It takes around 2.5 hours to fully charge and you can expect 1.5 days of backup with normal usage.
Lenovo K8 Plus also has Dolby digital support which helps to improve the sound quality. The sound from speakers and earphones is really good and you can improve it further to your liking by changing equalizer in the Dobly app which is preinstalled on the device. It is safe to say that Lenovo K8 Plus is the best smartphone under or around 10000 if you like to listen to music on your phone.
There is a notification LED on this device which was not enabled when the device was launched. But recently Lenovo has rolled out a software update and LED notification light has been enabled.
Overall the Lenovo K8 Plus is a balanced device with a great audio, good battery, decent camera, stock android and a powerful processor. If you need a budget device at around 10000 then this is a good option. Another phone with similar pricing and a dual camera is Honor 6X.
Xiaomi has launched Redmi Y1 recently at Rs. 8999. It competes with Lenovo K8 Plus. Take a look at its review, ratings, pros cons, specs.
Good Build Quality, Dual Camera Setup, Vibrant Display, Stock Android makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

8. Xiaomi Redmi Y1

Redmi Y1

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 256 GB
  • 5.5 inch HD Display 720p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 16MP
  • 3080mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Dark Grey, Gold Colors
Best Price ₹8999

Brief Review:

Redmi Y1 is the lastest smartphone from Xiaomi launched on 2nd November in India, which is the selfie-centric phone.  Redmi Y1 comes with a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution, the display is an IPS display protected by 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla glass protection. The body, though looks like metallic, is made of plastic and not metal as seen in Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4, it still looks good. The phone is easy to hold in hand and feels light in weight.
Redmi Y1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor and runs on latest MIUI 9 over the Android 7.1.2(Nougat). The phone comes in 2 variants of 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. The Antutu benchmark score of Redmi Y1 is 43500.
The camera performance of Redmi Y1 is impressive, it has a rear camera of 13MP with LED flash which is pretty decent in this price range. In our initial impressions, the outdoor shots looked good with plenty of details and sharpness. The picture quality in low light conditions was average though. The front camera, which is USP of the device, is a 16MP camera with a selfie flash. The front camera on Redmi Y1 is great for taking selfies. The software automatically beautifies your face and because the resolution is high, the pictures are very detailed. There is front flash as well so selfies in low light look good as well. Overall, the camera performance of Redmi Y1 is really good considering the price at which it is launched.
Redmi Y1 also worked well in the gaming department with no noticeable lag observed even in the high-end games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5. The fingerprint sensor is on the back and is pretty accurate. As with other Xiaomi phones, Redmi Y1 has an IR blaster at the top and can run dual apps.
The battery for Redmi Y1 is rated at 3080mAH, which is expected to last for a full day with normal usage conditions. The best thing about Redmi Y1 compared to other Xiaomi headsets is that it comes with a dedicated MicroSD card expandable up to 256GB, something not seen in Xiaomi phones for so long.
Overall, the phones do well in all areas like performance factor, camera, gaming. The price tag of Redmi Y1 looks justified. If you take a lot of selfies then go for Redmi Y1 and if you do not take selfies then Redmi Note 4 is a better device because of Snapdragon 625 chipset. Redmi Note 5 is also coming up next month with dual camera setup and bezel-less display so waiting for that is also a good idea.
Know about the upcoming Redmi Note 5 price, specifications, review and expected launch date.
16MP Front Camera, Good Build Quality, Front Camera Flash, Value for money makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.

9. Honor 9 Lite

9 Lite

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 256 GB
  • 5.6 inch Full HD+ Display 1080p
  • Back Camera: 13MP+2MP Dual Camera
  • Front Camera: 13MP+2MP Dual Camera
  • 3000mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Black, Grey, Blue Colors
Best Price ₹10999

Brief Review:

Honor 9 Lite is the latest smartphone in India from Huawei/Honor in the budget segment of around Rs. 10000-15000. Before this, we have seen 3 launches from Honor in last 4 months. The first one was Honor 9i, the second was Honor 7X and third was Honor View 10. We liked all those devices, now let's take a look at Honor 9 Lite.
Honor 9 Lite looks stunning. The phone is covered with glass on the front and back and has a very glossy finish. Yes, it is prone to fingerprints but when it is clean, it looks gorgeous. I don't remember the last time we saw a budget device that was this beautiful. If you are wondering which color is the best then my first choice would be Blue, then grey and then black. This is just a personal preference. Go with the color you like most.
The build of the phone is solid and it feels good in the hand. We have a 5.65-inch full view display with Full HD+ resolution. The display is large but the phone isn't because of the smaller bezels. You won't face any issues with one hand usage. The phone is slippery because of glass design so that might be a problem.
The aspect ratio of the display is 18:9 which is something we are seeing in all latest smartphones. The display is covered with 2.5D glass. Once again, we don't know whether there is tempered gorilla glass or not. Looking at Honor's past record, we think it is not a gorilla glass so getting a tempered glass for your Honor 9 Lite would be a good idea.
The Honor 9 Lite comes powered by 2.36 GHz Octa-Core Kirin 659 processor, which is a powerful processor capable of handling all the normal multitasking swiftly. We have seen the same chipset on the recently launched Honor 7X and Honor 9i. The chipset performs well and is efficient as well so we don't have any complaints. On Antutu benchmarks you will see a score of around 62000.
The multitasking Honor 9 Lite assisted by 3 or 4GB of RAM depending on which variant you buy. It comes with 32/64 GB of internal memory. Plus there is a MicroSD card slot which can be used to increase the storage by up to 256GB. The slot is hybrid so you can either use 2 sims cards or 1 sim card and a MicroSD card. We hate the concept of the hybrid slot because it limits the functionality of the device.
The USP of the device is the camera setup. Honor 9 Lite has a dual rear camera and dual front camera, The rear camera is a 13MP + 2MP dual camera while the front camera is a 13MP + 2MP dual camera. the dual camera setup allows additional effects to be added to the photos clicked. Both camera setups have an RGB camera sensor and a monochrome camera sensor. Details are captured from both cameras to make images sharper. Plus, they help to give a bokeh/depth effect to your pictures also known as portrait mode. We have seen the same camera setup before on Honor 7X and 9i and the performance are same. The pictures are nice in outdoor lighting. The bokeh effect also looks good in pictures from both front and rear cameras. The camera performance under low light conditions is average which is expected from a smartphone in this price range. Overall, we think the camera performance is decent and you won't be disappointed.

10. Infinix Hot S3

Hot S3

Features
  • 3 GB RAM | 32 GB ROM | MicroSD upto 128 GB
  • 5.6 inch HD+ Display 720p
  • Back Camera: 13MP
  • Front Camera: 20MP
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • Dual Sim Device
  • Available in Black, Gold Colors
Best Price ₹8999

Brief Review:

Infinix Hot S3 is the lastest smartphone from Infinix launched on 6th Feb in India. The Hot S3 is a selfie-centric phone with a 20MP front camera. It also comes with a bezel-less display of aspect ratio 18:9 which has been a trend lately.  Infinix Hot S3 comes with a 5.65-inch screen with HD+ resolution, the display is an IPS display protected by 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla glass protection. The phone is easy to hold in hand and feels light in weight even though it comes with a large 4000mAh battery.
Infinix Hot S3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor and runs on Android 8 Oreo. It is not stock android though. It runs on Infinix's own custom skin which doesn't look that great but does perform well. There are few extra apps but not a lot of bloatware which is a good thing.
The phone comes in 2 variants of 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. The Antutu benchmark score of Infinix Hot S3 is around 44000.
The camera performance of Infinix Hot S3 is impressive for the price, it has a rear camera of 13MP resolution. The camera performs well in daylight and under low light the performance is average. The front camera, which is USP of the device, is a 20MP camera with a selfie dual-tone flash. The front camera on Infinix Hot S3 is great for taking selfies. The pictures look great under daylight. Low light selfies also come out well because of dual-tone flash. Overall the camera performance is good. There is also beautify mode which is something a lot of people like.
Infinix Hot S3 also worked well in the gaming department with no noticeable lag observed even in the high-end games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5. The fingerprint sensor is on the back and is pretty accurate.
The battery for Infinix Hot S3 has a good capacity of 4000mAH. With an efficient chipset like Snapdragon 430, you can expect it to last for 1.5 days with heavy usage and 2 days with light usage which is excellent battery backup.
The Hot S3 comes with a dedicated micro SD card slot which can be used to increase the storage by up to 128GB. Thumbs up to Infinx for going with a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
The Infinix Hot S3 is not waterproof or dustproof so no IP rating is there for it. We hope that in few years budget smartphones will also have IP ratings.
Overall, the Infinix Hot S3 ticks all the right boxes. It has a nice display, good cameras, excellent battery and a decent entry-level chipset. The selfie camera is the USP of the device. We like the device and would call it one of the best smartphones under 10000. It will compete with the Lenovo K8 Plus and Redmi Y1, which are also really good devices.
Update: Infinix Hot S3 has received face unlocking feature via a software update. Now you can unlock the device just by looking at it.
20MP Front Camera, Good Build Quality, Dual Tone Front Flash, 18:9 Ratio Display makes it one of the best camera phones under 10000.
